Gwen's First Time Out

The first time at anything is hard to do, but going out (in broad daylight!!) while 'dressed' was an experience.

Greetings my Sisters:

The first time at anything is hard to do, but going out (in broad daylight!!) while 'dressed' was an experience.

I had made my mind up the week before that I would attend my Psychologist meeting fully dressed. Mind you, the location is on a University Campus with thousands of people milling about and I was scared that I would be 'clocked'.

Not being able to leave the house fully dressed, I got fully dressed, minus heels, wig and nails (which were in a bag). A block from my place, I quickly stripped off the 'old me' and got everything on and hoped that I hadn't screwed up my make-up that badly.

With heart in my mouth, I drove through the city to the University and parked in our reserved parking place. Right next to the football stadium. With my luck, the team was coming out as I exited the van and was walking to my session.

I walked through dozens of groups of students. The only comment that I heard was 'God! What an ugly broad!' When I got to the door, a young man oened the door for me and I could only nod my thanks.

At the office, the secretary just stared at me. When my Psychologist came out to get me, her jaw hit the floor. She just waved me ahead of her and off I went.

Going home was fun, too. Got to the van without being 'clocked' and was 'the other me' by the time I got out of the parking lot.

A few things I feel I should mention:

I am 53 and 6' tall and weigh roughly 180 pounds (roughly 13 stone) and no way do I look anywhere close to what I would like. I have attended all the rest of my sessions dressed. Since then, I have attended our regular monthly meetings (River City Gender Alliance) dressed. We discussed being 'clocked' and have come to the conclusion that if you just 'be yourself' most people are too busy to really notice. That is unless you are wearing a ball gown at noon on the high street. They may notice, but even in rural, God-fearing Nebraska, most are too caught up in their own problems to really care.

If I can do this, anyone can. But, be sensible about what you wear and where you are going. Going to a football match in a tight leather mini, whether you are a genetic female or a 'almost' female will get you clocked.

Yes, I have had comments made since that first time. Some of them were very rude, but, I just ignored them and kept on about my business. I would have to classify myself as somewhat to the 'grotesque' side of ugly. But, the woman in me refuses to be kept inside and I indulge her every chance I get.

God bless and keep you all safe,

Gwen
