Andrea's Diary (Part 13)

Outside we bid our farewells and I headed off to explore a new area of shops at Camden that I had been told about. Fortunately from Soho there is a bus route directly there and with London inner bus fares all being a flat £1 it's easy for a girl to travel around.
The shops were actually Camden Stables market, next to Camden Lock Market that has been established there for some years. The Stables has not been open long, and is full of unique and 'alternative' fashion stalls and shops. I had an initial wander around before spotting a really short skirt at one stall that was just too short for me to pass by!
Fortunately there was a place at the stall where I could try it on - which was just as well as the size 10 was far too small. and the size 12 was really tight to get on, but once on - WOW, it was great. I was half tempted to keep it on, but it was so incredibly short that I thought it would be better for night time or a more controlled surrounding!
Further along, located in the arches was another great clothes and accessory shop. The steel spiky chokers and bangles looked stunning. The shop 'No:Wear' was run by two ladies - one who designed the clothes and another who ran the shop, Rachel. I noticed her in 6" heels and we soon got talking.
Moving on, I ventured into an authentic Chinese clothing shop. Now, I have for a while thought of getting a traditional patterned Chinese outfit and soon found myself trying on various matching skirts and tops. The owner was really helpful and offered to make a few alterations for a far better fit (and shorter skirt!) - sorry couldn't resist it! After arranging to pick up my outfit the following week, I found out that he had supplied all the Chinese outfits to the girls in the latest Bond film - praise indeed.
I found many of the other shops around the market were crammed full of Sixties and Seventies outfits - definitely worth a further visit, maybe for that special Sixties mini skirt, but alas all to soon my time was up. I headed back to Transformation at Euston which was a short bus ride away.
(As for the Chinese outfit that I picked up a week later, that's definitely material for another Diary and photo shoot - the only clue is: the skirt redefines 'short'!)
