Andrea's Diary (Part 16)

First and foremost - I tried on my new sandals - I had ordered some red leather ankle strap sandals - these still had a 6" stiletto heel, but also just a very slight platform of about ½". This is just enough to make all the difference between standing and walking for a couple of hours in pain rather than torture! The shop now featured a very seductive leather sofa and a bright red leather chair - so firstly my new heels were strapped into place. WOW! With my black skirt not much wider than my red belt matching my red heels - the overall effect was just so - "sexy"
"Ok Spyros - as long as I can wear my new sandals and the matching skirt whilst I'm your temporary shop girl". "Call that a skirt - I've seen wider belts! - Well that should keep the passing traffic interested"
Now I have to say - that when I did this back on a cold winters morning last December - I was given the task of dusting the front window displays which was great to gain the admiration of passers by. Although for my brief stay today - all I was required to do was mind the shop for a short while. I didn't even bother trying on any of the stock this time either.
After my brief stay I was off on my travels again, and upon leaving - I set off in a cab to Brick Lane. This is a road that's just full of leather clothes shops, and from where I had my black leather mini dress made by a leather shop. In fact I liked it so much - I have been back to buy a number of skirts since (3!).
It was a nice sunny lunchtime when we arrived in Brick Lane and I decided to walk up the road and browse the shops on my way to Mordex. Needless to say my short skirt and heels were something of a distraction for drivers and workmen alike! But its one of those occasions when your confidence is so high you happily absorb the attention. In one shop I noticed a really (and I mean really) short black leather skirt that I could not resist passing by without trying on. Now here girls is where a little bit of reality kicks in for these skirts are meant to be worn by (real) girls on the hips and not around the waist as we would - so even if their size 12 had fitted it would have been too short to even cover my underwear! Never mind it was worth a try!
I dropped in to just say hello, and to see what new clothes and styles they had, before finally making my way back and to change before my make up wilted in the sun.
