Andrea's Diary (Part 2)
Transgender Life
Hi everyone, this is the next instalment to my diary, which I hope you enjoy reading and viewing the photographs.
Out and about
Many 'girls' have asked me how I have the nerve to go out dressed and how I cope with day-to-day situations, well here is my little guide. My confidence is attained by remembering the Four P's, they are Purpose, Planning, Presentation and being Prepared.
Purpose - Going out aimlessly will achieve you nothing, you will feel self conscious and conspicuous. If you have a purpose, a reason to go out, you have an objective to focus on. 'I'm going out to do this...'
Your purpose need only be something really simple such as posting a letter, visiting a friend or going shopping - anything like that. My first outing was precisely that - go and post a letter please Andrea! Still rings in my memory. Once confident, you could be out for coffee or a meal and also clubbing! Above all else, purpose is the key to you having a successful trip out.
Planning - With a purpose in mind you can consider how you are going to get there, what you will find both there and on route. Lets take a daytime shopping trip for instance, do you know which shops you want to go to, what are you looking to buy once there. Clothes shopping for us girls is a whole new experience, I'm lucky that I fit ordinary off the peg sizes.
Do you know your female size? There are also plenty of shops that stock and cater for larger sizes. Wherever you go you need to know the layout, and therefore what to expect. How will you pay? Remember that your Cheque and Credit Card may be in the name of 'Mr'.
